TRICIA
BEHIND THE LENS
I received a 126 Kodak Instamatic camera as a gift from my aunt and uncle when I was five years old. Unlike many of the gifts that I received throughout the years, which were “too old” for my age, this mature gift suited me just right. A trip to Washington D.C. was my photography debut, causing my parents to comment admiringly on my seemingly natural ability for taking pictures. I guess I just had an eye for artistic expression from the get-go!
I continued developing my talent throughout high school and college. In college, I received formal training in photography and art, and made money as a “party pic girl,” taking pictures at various sorority and fraternity functions. After college, I was fortunate to work with several amazing and accomplished mentors, which helped me perfect my craft and establish myself as a professional photographer.
I always knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. And although I’ll never fully “grow up”, I have accomplished and enjoyed thoroughly what I set out to do: portrait photography. I love the finished product, that’s for sure, but getting to know people is the most enjoyable part of my job. It is immensely rewarding.
Photography is my great love, and sharing it with the world in such a personal way is my passion. View my gallery of work. Look for the authenticity you find there. And if you’ve never had an experience with a photographer that was fun and liberating and that produced a true work of art, I hope you will choose me to capture the next moment of you and your loved ones’ lives. I have more than 20 years of experience as a photographer, producing beautiful portraiture that individuals and families love for years to come.
DANETTE
MAGICALLY DETAILED
Danette has been our studio manager since 2000. She keeps us all organized, which includes keeping up with the calendar, bookkeeping, album orders, print orders and phone messages. In her spare time, she oversees the schedules of two daughters, a DU student and a spunky 8-year –old and a husband. She keeps her Venus-like appearance by avidly walking every day. When you call the studio, you will likely speak with the lovely Danette!
KATHERINE
WRITING GURU
Katherine graduated from Saint Mary’s Academy in 2010 and is now studying Public Relations and Advertising at Chapman University in Orange, California. Katherine always loved taking pictures, but her true love of photography stemmed from taking black and white photography in high school. Katherine puts her super genius writing skills to good use by making sure our facebook is always kept up to date and all of our marketing materials are perfectly punctuated. When Katherine isn’t at the studio she is most likely at the gym or out on the town with her friends.
SPIKE
THE BOSS
You may have noticed a little Chihuahua running, leaping and jumping around our studio. That’s Spike, the Turpenoff Portrait Gallery mascot and beloved companion of Littleton Photographer, Tricia Turpenoff.
